The Finnish Pavilion at METS

METSTRADE 2024 will take place this year from the 19th to the 21st of November in Amsterdam at the RAI Convention Centre. The Finnish pavilion can be found in hall 1 next to the neighboring Swedish and Norwegian pavilions.

This year, in addition to Finnboat’s pavilion, our innovative companies are also divided into two other halls: Remoran presents its hydrogenerators in hall 7, X-Fender, which manufactures new types of airless and foldable fenders, and SimplyDC, which facilitates the installation of boat electrical systems, can be found in the Start-up Pavilion in hall 7, and Mesitek, which manufactures decking and interior parts, has built its stand to hall 12.

Nawa: Extensive boating equipment product range / Stand 01.782

LP Group (formerly know as Lankapaja Oy) is one of Finland’s leading metal industry manufacturers and the producer of Nawa marine equipment. The range of equipment from Nawa includes holders, brackets and boating gear produced of stainless steel which are installed with patented Nawa connectors of sea water and sun resistant nylon material.
Nawa’s Boating equipment range includes fender baskets, mooring and rope reels, mooring and buoy hooks, anchor and rope holders, flag pole sockets, safety gear holders, spinnaker pole holders, SUP brackets etc.

Nextfour: White-label multifunction display for the boat manufacturers  / Stand 01.581

Nextfour’s mission is to make boating accessible for everyone by making the technology easy. The Nextfour Q Multifunction Display is configured to be a white-label product, which allows boat manufacturers to integrate their own branding directly in the user interface. The Q Digital Switch adds the ability to control up to 40 devices directly on the display.
The Q Display is complemented by its mobile user interface, Q App. Q App also enables the use of numerous functions enabled by Q Display, such as the Q Guard function and advanced statistics.
The Q Display API not only lets the boat manufacturer create their own custom applications for the Q Display, but also gives you full access to all the data in the display. Fleety, the all-in-one web-based platform to manage and gather data, not only offers fleet management capabilities for boat rental companies but also allows boat builders to collect user data from their boats on the field. This creates a completely new way of interacting with and understanding the boaters.

Oceanvolt: Electric power and propulsion systems / Stand 01.682

Founded in 2004, Oceanvolt is a pioneering manufacturer of electric and hybrid propulsion systems for boats. Oceanvolt offers state-of-the-art electric motors that combine sustainability, safety and reliability.
Oceanvolt’s 48V electric propulsion systems are suitable for use in sailboats, motorboats, harbour ferries and other small and medium-sized commercial boats. With built-in software, Oceanvolt systems can be monitored and serviced in real time via the Internet.

Safire: Arctic heating expertise / Stand 01.683

Safire boat heaters have a legendary reputation as a reliable and quiet heat source. The heaters feature redesigned control electronics that allow remote operation with the new Safire 1287B remote controller.
The Safire cera22 diesel stove boils a litre of cold water in 11 minutes. This stove completes the entire range so that the boat can dispense with the use of gas altogether – the boat’s own diesel fuel is used as fuel. The ceramic hob without open flame is safe and easy to use and the flue gases are safely discharged.
The boat heater range extends from the exceptionally quiet and small 0.7–1.6Kw Safire 16Di for small HT and cabin boats and small sailboats to 0.9–3.9 kW Safire 39Di he most powerful heater in the Safire range, which is comfortable enough to heat even large boats up to 13 metres in size.

Päijän: Effortless rowing, elevated / Stand 01.780

The innovative Aerot oars by Päijän Boats transform rowing into a smooth, silent, almost meditative experience, enabling rowers to immerse themselves fully in the natural surroundings. Päijän wanted to enhance the rowing experience by addressing the limitations of conventional wooden oars, such as discomfort and reduced durability.
After years of meticulous development, these revolutionary, hydrodynamic oars are setting new standards for rowing comfort and efficiency. Päijän’s Aerot oars are designed for longevity using 100% recycled and anodized aluminium, composite materials, and stainless steel for the oarlock shaft. They weigh about the same as traditional wooden oars but have a larger blade area for better propulsion, making rowing feel more easy, efficient and smoother.
At the METSTRADE, Päijän introduces Modular Aerot, which can be easily packed into a smaller package for convenience. This modular system not only allows customers to customise their oars and adapt to changing boat requirements by simply purchasing new-length shafts as needed, but it also paves the way for future options, including different types of blades and handles tailored to individual preferences.

Toppi: High-quality extrusion profiles for the marine industry  / Stand 01.784

Toppi is a plastic extrusion company manufacturing high-performance plastic profiles, designed exclusively for the marine industry. The products are tailored to exact specifications with superior weather, impact, and UV resistance.
In collaboration with the raw material manufacturer, Toppi developed and improved the marine grade material even further. This enhanced formulation meets high UV radiation standards, ensuring exceptional durability for the marine profiles. The superior UV protection preserves both the visual and structural integrity of the products, significantly extending their lifespan.

Wallas: SwitchMaster brings smart management and comfort to boating / Stand 01.680

SwitchMaster brings smart management and comfort to boating, with Wallas App serving as its user interface. Through the Wallas App, users can remotely turn on the boat’s lighting before arriving, enhancing safety. The refrigerator can also be pre-cooled to keep food fresh for longer. The remote-controlled ventilation reduces moisture inside the boat, improving air quality and helping prevent moisture buildup. SwitchMaster enables automatic, cabin-specific control of the
boat’s heating system, allowing precise temperature adjustment in different zones, such as sleeping cabins and the saloon.
Matrix heaters: For the quietest heating system on the market, Wallas have developed new steplessly-controlled matrix heaters with individual thermostats, allowing multiple cabins to be heated within their own temperature zones. With low speeds and an independent thermostat, even small sleeping cabins can receive the right amount of heat almost silently, avoiding the constant start/stop cycles of the heater.
Blower Lids: The new blower lids for 1200D and 600D stoves offer a cost-effective and space-saving solution for interior heating with a 2-in-1 design. In addition to the new design and more compact size, heating efficiency has been increased. The stove can also be installed as a recessed unit, with the blower lid surface level with the countertop, creating a stylish and seamless integration in the kitchen. Heating is controlled by adjusting the thermostat, and cooking power is regulated on a scale of 1–6, just like at home.

VA-varuste: Europe’s leading manufacturer of custom-made boat textiles / Stand 01.583

VA-Varuste Ltd is the leading manufacturer of fitted boat textiles in the whole of Europe which serves all significant boat builders in the Nordic countries and in Europe. Main products are boat canopies, harbour covers, boat cushions and seats. Boat textiles represent peak expertise in the field both in relation to quality and practical use. The functionality, appearance and durability are the key factors in designing new products.
VA-Varuste uses 3D programs by which they can model a wide variety of alternatives without having to prepare a prototype of products. The factories are located in Finland, Poland and in Portugal.

Mesitek: Exquisite deckings and tables from the Scandinavia / stand 12.825 (Hall 12)

Mesitek Marine (Mesitek-Kaluste Oy) specializes in offering the finest decking and interior parts combining durability, aesthetics, and ease of installation, ensuring a smooth manufacturing process. Mesitek offers Scandinavian craftsmanship, long-lasting partnerships and products built to last.
Compact laminate is composed of layers of saturated paper and resin, resulting in exceptional durability. Available in various decors and thicknesses, it is commonly used for decking, engine room covers, hatches, and instrument panels. Compact laminate is fully moisture resistant.
Warmotech waterproof panels are generated from surplus materials of the PU insulation production and PU coated to highly durable, moisture resistant interior panels, that can be processed using standard woodworking tools.
Honeycomb panels are naturally lightweight and durable, self-supporting, corrosion resistant and fire safe. Material is ideal for the supporting structures of weight-restricted applications and for module structures.

Remoran: Improved sailboat hydrogenator and new EasyLift mounting system / Stand 07.626

Remoran’s aim is to make green energy generation accessible to all sailors and make it so convenient and comfortable that it can be used at all times. Remoran Oy is participating in this year’s Metstrade show with the improved Remoran Wave 3 hydrogenerator, as well as newly launched Easy Lift mounting system. The new Remoran Wave 3-hydrogenerator based on valuable customer feedback and experiences. Special attention is given to material choices and solutions that ensure the product’s corrosion resistance and mechanical durability in marine conditions.
The new EasyLift Mounting System is designed specifically to enhance the use of Remoran Wave 3 -hydrogenerators. EasyLift improves safety by eliminating the need to reach over the edge of the boat. The hydrogenerator can now be easily and safely raised and lowered directly from the deck. Weed can often be removed simply by adjusting the angle, and all operations can be done from the deck without reaching down to the device’s handles. The solution is especially good for classic boats without swimming platforms, where accessing the hydrogenerator for lifting or angle adjustment while sailing can be risky and challenging.

SimplyDC: Boat electrics simplified / Stand 07.300M (Hall 7 / startup pavilion)

SimplyDC launches a new era of simplicity in boat electrics install at METS2024. Now you can configure and install a complete 12-48VDC system from PowerUP and SimplyConnect modules in minutes. SimplyDC system comprises of two types of modules: PowerUP and SimplyConnect. The PowerUP modules handle the large current switching, fusing, contacting & measuring and distributing the power everywhere in your system. SimplyConnect plug and play modules are for
your lower current loads, they provide fused power outputs and switched power outputs, in the future also NMEA and TCP/IP networking as well as BMS functionalities.
SimplyDC Oy is a startup designing and manufacturing innovative patented power distribution products in Tampere Finland. The company was founded in 2024 based on a 5 year product development by the founder. Products are intended for Marine, Off-Grid and Mobile 12-48VDC system installation.

X-Fender: New Boat Fender Innovation  / Stand 07.300B (Hall 7 / startup pavilion)

The World´s first foldable and puncture-proof fender developed by X-Fender Oy has been selected as a highlight startup of the METSTRADE 2024. X-Fender is both the name of the newly founded company and the trade name of the new fender product.

The product is believed to be the world’s first airless and foldable fender, with its main advantages over current products being space-saving, versatility, and puncture-proof design. X-Fender’s patented structure, which unfolds into a flat shape, allows for storage in tight spaces and can even be used as a seat cushion on long sailing trips.
Through design, new versatile functionalities, and interesting brand collaborations, the goal is to turn fenders from a necessary evil into a desirable lifestyle product that completes any boat.
