MaterialDistrict's Pop-Up themed "Circular Beauties" at METSTRADE 2019

During METSTRADE 2019 you can enjoy MaterialDistrict Pop-up on 19, 20 and 21 November, with the theme “Circular Beauties”. This exhibition is entirely dedicated to materials that are biobased and/or recycled, avoiding the use of non-renewable material sources. This comprehensive exposition of raw materials is again organised at the RAI by the global platform for innovative materials, MaterialDistrict.

METSTRADE is the only international B2B exhibition for the marine leisure industry presenting over 1600 exhibitors from all over the world. It combines new products, seminars and unrivalled networking opportunities for visitors to connect across countries, technologies and industry sectors. MaterialDistrict Pop-up will be present at the RAI Amsterdam with various partners and an exhibition of 120 especially selected new materials. MaterialDistrict Pop-up will be present in the Holland Lounge of the RAI Convention Centre in addition to the Construction Material Pavilion (CMP).

Exhibition “Circular Beauties”

Change is in the air for all industries. No more linear processes, but circular ones, re-using materials, recycling materials and using biobased materials. What is a circular boat in this world of luxury? The examples and references in this exhibition will show that intelligent, biobased and recycled materials can be beautiful and luxurious. Tiles with oyster shells, lightweight aluminium foam, translucent leather, recycled plastic tiles, 3D textiles, light emitting fabrics, and materials made from waste are just some examples of what innovative “good” materials you can expect at the exhibition “Circular beauties”.

Facing challenges on the I-nnovationLAB

MaterialDistrict will also see a series of lectures and presentations organised on the I-nnovationLAB Stage in Hall 6 throughout the three days of the exhibition.

On 19 November 15:45-16:15, Niels van Oostenbrugge of Fiberneering will talk about the company’s FRP3D technology, which stands for the 3D printing of Fibre Reinforced Plastic, resulting in lightweight, strong, and durable fibre reinforced products.

Els Zijlstra, founder of MaterialDistrict, will take the stage on 20 November 11:15-11:45 and on 21 November 13:00-13:30. Her lecture will discuss the circular board in the world of luxury, using examples and references that show that intelligent, biobased, and recycled materials can be beautiful and luxurious.

The lecture by Friedrich Deimann, Master Boat Builder and founder of Greenboats, on 21 November 10:45-11:15 will show that it is possible to substitute conventional fossil-based raw material with biobased and/or recycled materials without sacrificing performance or durability.
