DPS Innovation award

The NMMA Innovation Awards, judged by an esteemed panel from Boating Writers International (BWI), spotlight manufacturers and suppliers who push the boundaries of innovation in the boating industry. This year’s awards saw Dockmate emerging as a leader in technological advancement with its Dockmate DPS, a system that revolutionizes the way boaters dock and maneuver their vessels.
Gary Reich, one of the eight BWI judges with extensive experience in marine journalism, commended Dockmate DPS for its transformative impact on boating safety and convenience. “Dockmate DPS brings the benefits of dynamic positioning systems to hundreds of thousands of boats that previously couldn’t leverage its safety and convenience,” Reich noted, highlighting the system’s significance in enhancing marine operations.

The Dockmate DPS system is designed to offer precision docking capabilities to a wide range of boats, making advanced technology accessible to a broader audience within the marine community. Its innovative approach to docking not only enhances safety but also contributes to a more enjoyable boating experience for users.

Thrusterhold

Enabling captains to keep the thrusters engaged to port or starboard at a certain level in order to hold the boat pressed against a jetty, pier or other boat, ThrusterHold makes it easier for captains to moor their boat. While a similar feature has been offered by some thruster controls OEMs, this is the first time this feature is available on a wireless remote control.
Dockmate ThrusterHold is now available on Dockmate TWIN, SINGLE and TWIST. The feature is compatible with all supported CAN bus thruster controls for proportional thrusters, including Sleipner S-Link, VETUS V-CAN, ABT-TRAC Link and CMC-CANopen. Systems that have integrated with Dockmate’s protocol will also benefit from this new feature, provided they use proportional thrusters. More third-party CAN bus thruster controls will benefit from ThrusterHold in the future as well.

Added compatibility

After extensive testing to ensure that their controllers would meet or exceed Emerson’s quality and safety standards, Dockmate’s wireless remote control system is now recognized by Marex OS systems as a wireless station. This seamless integration allows operators with Marex OS controls access to full engine control wirelessly from the Dockmate remote control while stepping away from the helm for greater visibility. Whether installed by boat builders or as part of a retrofit, Dockmate will not void engine or controller warranties for most popular engine or controller brands.
