AMSTERDAM, 19 November 2024 – Päijän Boats proudly unveils its groundbreaking Aerot oars at METSTRADE 2024, the world’s largest marine equipment trade show, from November 19-21 in Amsterdam. After years of meticulous development, these hydrodynamic oars are setting new standards for rowing comfort and efficiency, addressing the drawbacks of traditional wooden oars, which have remained largely unchanged since 5000 BC. Experience the future of rowing with Aerot® oars at our exhibit!
Päijän’s Aerot oars transform rowing into a smooth, immersive experience. CEO Antti Mäkelä explains, “We aimed to enhance rowing by overcoming the limitations of conventional wooden oars.” Developed with the LAB Institute of Design and Fine Arts in Lahti, Aerot oars offer an ergonomic design with advanced grip options that reduce strain and improve comfort.
Crafted from 100% recycled and anodized aluminum, composite materials, and stainless steel, Aerot oars are built for durability and sustainability. “We’re finalizing carbon footprint testing to confirm that Aerot oars meet our highest environmental standards,” says Mäkelä.
At METSTRADE, we’re excited to introduce the Modular Aerot, which can be conveniently packed and customized to adapt to changing boat requirements by purchasing new-length shafts. This feature enhances the longevity of Aerot and supports sustainability, as any broken part can be replaced, ensuring minimal waste.
