The exhibitor story of: Marlow
Marlow
What is your most memorable METSTRADE moment throughout those 35 years?
A couple spring to mind:
Seeing METSTRADE grow over the last 35 years into a yearly must-attend destination for all marine industry professionals has been great to witness, and has coincided with our own growth into Europe and beyond – our network of distribution and global expansion of the Marlow brand has never been better.
One of our most memorable moments was bringing our first sustainably manufactured product to launch at METSTRADE in 2019 and then being awarded a DAME Award Special Mention. Being recognized by the Dame Award judging panel for being the first rope-maker in the industry to launch a full recycled and recyclable product was pretty special for us.
What makes your company come back to METSTRADE year after year?
METSTRADE is unique in that it is the only B2B specialist yacht equipment show and the diverse range and variety of both products and global attendees continues to make it stand apart from other shows and remain highly respected across the industry. We always make new connections at METSTRADE, whilst meeting friends and industry peers. It’s always a busy, business-making event.
How did your exhibiting experience change throughout the years?
Our stand position has changed as the show has grown and evolved and the METSTRADE staff have always been accommodating to work with our requests. We’ve occupied a number of key locations over the years and this year we are particularly excited to be showcasing our biggest stand yet.
Throughout the 35-year history of METSTRADE, what was the most significant challenge that your company encountered, which affected your participation in the event?
Covid caused a lot of disruption and challenges for everyone involved – the first year saw cancellation and the second year, Holland went into lockdown just before the event opened and we went from manning our stand with 6 employees down to 2. Throughout all of this, METS has always been a staple in our calendar so we were delighted to see ‘business as usual’ last year.
What direction do you envision for the METSTRADE brand in the next decade and what accomplishments do you hope to have at the next show anniversary?
We hope to see METSTRADE continue to evolve and where possible, pushing boundaries in the industry – we’d love to see a stronger approach to pushing sustainability initiatives – not just in the marine industry, but also from an events and logistics perspective. Promoting the use of, and implementing greener technology as a whole is needed now more than ever.
What is your most fun moment throughout the years?
Too many to mention! METSTRADE has always been a great bonding experience for our staff, customers and suppliers.
