Brilliant business contacts and great opportunities for news gathering by the IBI team.

How did your exhibiting experience change throughout the years?

The sheer professionalism of the organization and the new features and benefits which have been introduced during the past few years.

Throughout the 35-year history of METSTRADE, what was the most significant challenge that your company encountered, which affected your participation in the event?

The decision in 2016, with the then show manager, to launch the IBI-METSTRADE Boatbuilder Awards which proved to be a great success and which has become major feature of the show.

What direction do you envision for the METSTRADE brand in the next decade and what accomplishments do you hope to have at the next show anniversary?

The show is so large now I guess you may have to continue the trend to sectionalize it to give visitors with a specific interest more opportunity to interact with their existing and potential suppliers or alternatively extend the show by one day which I know is continuously debated.

What is your most fun moment throughout the years?

The party you threw for me on my 50th Anniversary with IBI complete with an over flowing champagne tower and swordsman bottle opener, It was totally unexpected and great fun.

Is there anything else that you would like to share with us? (any nice stories, anecdotes, etc)

When looking after a very senior industry CEO who we had invited to speak at the Breakfast Briefing some years ago and who had flown over from the US in his company`s private jet having to give him €30 euros to pay for a taxi ride to his hotel.
